Factcheck.org #319 - A Rigged "Calculator" - Democrats harness false assumptions...

Here's a link to the article.


This calculator, according to the article, is on the websites of 16 Democratic Senators and Americans United to Save Social Security.


Look. The Social Security "Trust Fund" is government debt instruments, similar to bonds.


When these bonds mature, the funds to redeem them will come from "federal funds", which, of course, means you and me (assuming we're both still alive.)


The geezers want to screw you over, Gen X'ers and Gen Y'ers.


Your only hope is to let the magic of compound interest on the portion of your Social Security that's in your personal accounts diminish the amount that's going to have to come from your tax dollars that will be used to repay those bonds.
